End User Geek sets no first-party cookies, runs no analytics, includes no advertising pixels, and does not build visitor profiles.
Web server logs. The origin server records standard nginx access logs: IP address, user agent, requested URL, referrer when provided by the browser, and timestamp. These logs are used for security monitoring and debugging, stay on hardware I operate, and are rotated and deleted automatically within about 14 days. There is no IP retention beyond those logs.
Cloudflare. Requests route through Cloudflare Tunnel and Cloudflare's edge network for TLS, routing, and DDoS protection. Cloudflare processes visitor IP addresses and request metadata as part of that service. I do not use Cloudflare analytics features for this site.
The site loads fonts from Google Fonts. Your browser may contact Google to fetch those font files. Apart from Google Fonts and Cloudflare routing, pages do not load third-party scripts or trackers.
If you email corrections, tips, or questions, I receive your email address and whatever you wrote. I use that to reply and for no other purpose.
If you sign up for the newsletter, I store your email address, which streams you chose (new guides, new articles, or both), and the dates you confirmed and last changed your subscription. That is all — no name, no tracking pixels, no open or click tracking.
Signup is double opt-in: after you submit the form I send a confirmation email, and you are not added to any list until you click the link in it. The list lives in a database on hardware I operate, alongside the rest of the site. Confirmation and newsletter emails are delivered through Resend, which processes your address solely to send those messages.
I never sell, rent, or share the list. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can change your streams or unsubscribe at any time; unsubscribing stops all future sends. To be removed entirely, email [email protected].
Deletion requests can go to [email protected]. For server logs, requests are usually moot within two weeks because the logs rotate out automatically.
This policy lives in git. If it changes, the effective date changes and the history remains versioned.
